The A1 will go quite a bit over your budget. I have a 7HI and have had a 7i and to be honest, with what you can get on some other brands, I would look for a different make. The other less expensive Minoltas may disappoint you if you are use to a SLR.
I haven't actually used the Fuji 7000 but its a 5MP in your price range and it has some good reviews. Also a lot of manual features if you want to use them. The Olympus 750UZ also looks interesting with its 10X zoom and you might want to look at it. Take a look at some other sections in the forums and see what others comment about their cameras. I was fixed on Minolta when I bought my camera because of the name but the Digital Market is quite different than the SLR market. I wish I had been more objective when I was looking instead of spending 800.00 buying the Minolta name brand and not doing my research. |
