Just like the subject line says, yesterday the camera stopped working. I have tried three pairs of fresh Ni-mh batteries. When you close the battery cover and move the "select" dial to the "camera" icon you can hear slome mechanical move inside, but its very faint. But there's no power up. Zilch.

Oddly enough, I threw in a set of batteries yesterday that were all but drained and I got the flashing low battery indicator on LCD o the top of the camera.

Is there something I can or am I out of luck. This is driving me crazy.

First, I would check to see if there is any corrosion, or some material in the battery compartment which is preventing good contact. If nothing is visible, the best thing to try, if you have it available, is an external power source, such as the AC adapter, or a 6V battery pack (with correct polarity, of course). If it still won't power up, the likelihood is that your camera has a bad power supply. Contact Sony service for this.
