Hi Barb,
It's in Stotfold, a 'small' town in Bedfordshire England. The church is St Marys. Population around 7000. The church is illuminated like this every night. Steve |

Steve:
For some reasonI couldn't get your church shot to open when you first posted it. I've been getting that 'please login' message too. All the others display right away, but your church stays under wraps as an attachment. I've got it now but I can't understand why it doesn't display immediately. How come? Nice church, by the way! -------------------------------------------------------------------- E.T. Very remarkable skies, nothing like that round here. So many lakes in your region too, I looked it up on the map - it must be beautiful. Frank |

Thanks ET - I didn't realise that tags could be used, but that's because I didn't read the bit above this 'reply' section ! Silly me!
I see - so Saimaa is just one REALLY BIG lake. I didn't appreciate this when I glanced at my map. It's huge. Your photos are excellent - I would find it hard to pick the best but I think I agree with one of your admirers - the frozen tree - it looks just so very beautiful, yet so cold. We used to get cold weather like that but not now for many years. I would think that it's impossible to take a BAD photograph in your country! Thanks agin. Frank |

Well, not the best shot in the world but the best I could get tonight from my doorstep.
A200 + TCON-17, equiv 340mm. Manual, 0.77sec @f3.5, ISO 400. Visibility good, but shimmering a little. Photo is of Liverpool, Liver Building clock (just visible, left), Catholic cathedral (moderately clear, just right of centre) Anglican cathedral (right, not too clear). Distance approx 15 miles across two rivers and some hills. |

Hi Frank,
Honestly not sure why it does this. It was a jpg attachment and below size limits but it seems to open in a browser. Finger trouble at my end I guess. Cheers Steve |

Steve: Actually it was me! I didn't realise that images could be attached in that way. Both ways seem OK.
Mike: I must do a search in Google to see if there's anything like that in the UK. Great! Moon shot coming up, I hope..... A200 with TCON-17 telephoto, unretouched apart from 'levels' in Photoshop, no sharpening. |
