Anyone have the ruibber eyepiece replaced? How much did it cost & How long did it take to have it done at Konica Minolta, New Jersey?

Dork: As this is the Konica-Minolta forum, it is reasonable to assume that the D7i is a Konica-Minolta model. Just do a quick search and you would find out.
Calrec: I have a D7i and eventually the rubber eyepiece became damaged. In my case, one side got ripped and was dangling. I used rubber cement to glue it back in place. If yours is not too badly off, you could try the rubber cement too. |

Reason I'm asking is mine is completely gone. I heard Minolta has an improved replacement that has to be installed at the New Jersey repair facilityl. I've asked a Minolta authorized repair dealer near Indianapolis and he said he couldn't/wouldn't do it.
Trying to locate someone who had the new eye piece installed how much is cost etc. |

My parrot chewed up my eyepiece the first week I had my D7i. I got the round eyepiece from Orion and it fit perfectly. I liked it so much I adapted one to my more recent Panasonic. http://www.telescope.com/shopping/pr...iProductID=170

I had to cut it and use a little glue for the FZ10 though. |

Seems cheap enough - since my rubber eyepiece is completely gone (lost) maybe I can adapt it to the remaining EVF housing.

You might need a little glue - mine wasn't completely gone.
