Here are a couple of crops of shots that demonstrate my problems with focusing. Nothing special but it took four trys to get the birdhouse in focus (more or less). A bright, clear day (although in the shade), full zoom, 1/250, f4.0, centre flex point focus for the first one and 1/125, f3.5 (chosen by the camera) for the second one. I've had no problem in the past with this shot with my old Fuji 602. The cat studying me was in natural/incandescent light, ISO400, auto WB, 1/40, f3.5.
