SD Memory Card for Diamge Z1

Im about to by a Minolta Dimage Z1.
Of course, I MUST buy a big memory, a 256MB one for longer movie recording.
I checked prices of SD 256M cards form SanMar, Lexar, Panasonic, ...

Which brand do you suggest? (Panasonic are MORE expensive).

Thanks!

They are more expensive, but they are DRAMATICALLY faster.

3 Manufacturers make SD (they OEM SD to the other "manufacturers): Pansonic, Toshiba, and Sandisk.

Panasonic makes the fastest cards -- by far.

Pansonic's Standard Secure Digital Cards in both 256mb and 512mb sizes are rated at a sustained read/write speed of 10mb/second.

Konica-Minolta Japan doesn't even consider the Sandisk 256mb Secure Digital Card to be compatible with my Konica KD-510z (Minolta G500), due to documented errors with Sandisk Secure Digital Cards larger than 128mb.

P.S.

The Simpletech 256mb and 512mb Secure Digital Cards are also rated at 10mb/second read and write (Simpletech doesn't make SD, so I believe these are simply rebranded Panasonic Cards).

See their specs here (click on a card size for speed -- cards smaller than 256mb are slower):
