I've noticed that several Japanese companies including Sony tendtobe producing their products for sale outside Japan in China/Taiwan/Indonesia etc. Just wondering if the same is true for cameras.I have anA200 bought here in Japan, and it is also 'made in Japan'. Is the same true for you UK/USA owners?

Hello,
My A200 is stamped 'Japan', the remote control is stamped 'Made in China' and the box bears a New Jersey address ! I'm happy with that. I'm glad that it does not bear the warning 'Made in the European Union', that would be worrying ! |

Like Frank's, my A2is stamped Japan. As are my BP-400 and both NP-400's. All bought about a year ago.
My Olympus TCON-17 is also marked Japan. I, for one, am very pleased, as they seem to know what they are doing with this sort of thing in Japan 8). |

Seems like KM at least haven't 'sold out' to the cheaper labour markets outside Japan.....yet!
