my 7hi has 4 cracks on it, the camera is still under warenty and it has no signs of droping of blunt force and i didn't drop it
if i send it in will they fix it? and how long do you think it will take? thanks |

Shouldn't be a problem the cracks are a known issue with this camera.
Here in the UK Minolta service say it takes up to 4 weeks, I got mine back in just over 2 ![]() I had 2 cracks, the usual one on the side panel next to the af/mf button and one on the flash "legs" They also adjusted the flash which has always been under powered and up to 3 feet it's fine but still seems to under expose on anything further with exposures of 1/45 at f2.8 under normal room lighting (exposure values automatically set by camera). Time for a Sigma EF500 Super DG I think ![]() |

I have used support with minolta repeatedly and have been told two weeks and it would be back. However it takes 3-6. The tickets will state a 3-6 week time on them also.

Does everybody get these cracks? And will Minolta fix it only if it's under warranty? There has to be something we can do to prevent these cracks, can't we?

i got my 7hi new and keep it in a foam case and use it with care, but i live in ohio and i am always going inside and out with my camera in the snow, at least a 30 deg. rapid change and that might help make the cracks

just an update for those of you that care,
i got another letter from minolta saying one of the parts they need to fix my camera is out of stock and will take 30 days to get the part! ![]() |
