I can't seem to be able to capture the moon properly with my Z1. It's always out of focus, even when I've used a tripod. Like it can't focus that far away or something...
Anyways, here's my best attempt. Went throught some photoshop and Helicon filters to get here....
Any tips?

Have you tried playing around with these settings? I usually shoot the moon with ISO between 100 and 400 (depending on brightness), shutter speed bet 1/125 and 1/250 and apperture at around f/4.5. I also have my metering set to multi-segment. The following is one of the best I can do (unedited) with my Z3. It was taken early morning around sunrise with a handheld Z3. I'm new at this myself and I have seen some spectacular moon shots taken by dslr owners which I can't even hope to get close to.

My Z1 looks terrible at ISO 400, way too too much noise. 50 and 100 are best, 200 is acceptable. I'll mess around some more tonight, hopefully I'll get some better results. :?
Still not sure why it doesn't focus properly though...

Even with Anti-shake, I find that trying to focus on small or far away objects at maximum optical zoom(12x for z3) is very difficult. I don't know if this due to the view finder or just a limitation of my eyesight.
