from a Japanese site 4 shots 2272x1704
I downloaded (with a DL manager) the first one
EXIF says it's a 1/30 sec at ISO 160 (in fact medium/high noise)

Here are some more I received from Sweden from a new owner. Disappointing amount of noise, too.

A really surprising bad result . I'm a beginner in photography and i don't know if our two friends who took the pics made something wrong. It seems impossible to mehaving such a badquality using this camera with so many improvements. I think we shouldwait forSteve's samples and comments to come to a more safe conclusion.

Any otheropinions?

Hi everyone,

Please be aware that previous pictures, definitely those on
http://article.pchome.net/2004/07/07/21782_5.htm were taken with a Beta version of the camera which still had some bugs.

A guy who bought a retail version just recently has released some kind of review which shows that the camera is really a good one.

Please have a look at:

and post your opinions.

The same magazine posting the beta pics have a review with the final camera. Much better pics. Check here: http://article.pchome.net/2004/07/30/23192_4.htm

The indoor shots at the bottom of this series are taken at ISO50, 1/25th sec. There seems to be above average noise? I expect there to be almost no visible noise at ISO50 at shutter lengths up to 1/2 second. is this unreasonable?

The discussion about noise is getting fierce in the dpreview forums. Some say it's OK for this price, some are disappointed.

To make things even more complicated, it seems that there are two firmware versions out there.
