Default Dimage XT

Hi

I will try to resume in few words my situation.

I bought an s230 camera. I really love it, but I will return it. Because I'm looking for a small, light camera.

So, I turned on the Dimage XT (wich is not available yet in Canada)

But I'm concern about on thing on the XT.

on some sample, I can see the darkness on the corners of the pictures?

I guess it's not normal. Anyone notice it before? Is it the case of all ultra compact digital camera lens? I'm thinking of the Optio S too. But so far, the XT is my choice. The only thing I hate about the OPtio S. I think it cant take picture in raffle...correct me if i<m wrong.

Thanks all for your inputs!!

Default calling xt owners

I hope you can post your comments on Dimage xt, as I am also trying to choose between Canon S400 or XT or Casio EX-Z3.

I'm looking for a small and light camera, but if the picture quality is not up to par then I'll settle for Canon instead even if it'll weight a brick.

The main reason why I want a digital camera is the fact taht I can carry it anywhere I want to go.
that's why I'm looking for a very light and small camera.
I'm far from a pro when we come to photography or anythign related to that department. That's why I needed some feedback on the XT pictures quality.

here's a link to what scare me about the dimage XT. The famous "vignetting"

The review you pointed to involves the Dimage X, not the Xt. So it will be real interesting to see if Minolta corrected the sharpness, ghosting and vignetting issues in the Xt.

I too have an interest in a small, go anwhere, carry all the time digital camera, and like you, I was thinking about the Xt. So I hope Minolta fixed the issues.

Indeed, it's a Dimage X review.

But if you look around, (here, and other review) about the Xi or Xt.

You "should" find the same effect...or maybe it's just me ops:

Where did you find an Xt review? I looked on DPReview, but didn't see one.

Never mind.
Steve has a review. Duh!

The vignetting problem does not seem as bad. I downloaded a sample and will play with it in photoshop.

Thanks for the links. Hmmm... seems similar to the original X.
Oh well, maybe the new Konica :-).
