I doubt it matters but faster cards won't speed up the camera, just the downloads to the PC will be faster.

SanDisk 1GB Extreme® III SD™ Card (SDSDX3-1024-901)

SD memory card: Designed for professional photographers, Extreme III SD cards feature fast read/write speeds that let you quickly capture, view, upload and transfer large image files.

This is what the card info says. What is fast read/write speed to quickly capture a pic, if it is only for transfer to computer. Again do not know any of this and looking for help.

Consumer digicams such as your Z3 work pretty much at a set speed and buffer shots with builtin memory so the speed of the card does not significantly speed up the basic camera ops. It is really a moot point nowadays as most all new SD cards are "fast" and cheap.

Z3 has a internal buffer fast enough to capture even 10 frames per second.

Fast SD card will not make the capture faster nor will make the download faster. Z3 still use USB 1.1 instead of USB 2.0.

I use 1GB and transferring to the PC at USB 1.1 speed takes ages. I use USB 2.0 compliant card reader instead

Konica Minolta recommends cards capable of 66X speed for 640x480 movie clips.
