Default I just got a D7i!

Now that I have my D7i I have a question about the batteries that came with it. On the battery book it says that the batteries should only be used with the Sanyo battery charger. I have a rayovac charger. Can I use the rayovac charger instead?

It should be OK, the Rayovac also monitors the dV/dt for charge completion and the batteries are rated @1.2V as well, but why don't you want to use the Sanyo one?

I would try both to see which one does a better job, and don't automatically assume the Rayovac is better until you've tried. It might finish the charge first, but the batteries (Sanyo or others) might not be up to their best they can be... and some brands are more matched to one charger than other. (who know the Sanyo might charge the Rayovac batteries better, and the Rayovac charger could provide more charge to the 1850 batteries)

My rayovac has a battery protector and I also had to pay for it.

I only want to take one charger with me on my trip.
