Folks,

Does anyone know if the Dimage 7hi has an internal battery and if so how do I get to it? What are the symptoms when/if it dies? None of the local shops have a clue on KM products. TIA

Yes, there is an internal battery for maintaining memory of custom WB settings, user settings, and timekeeping. It is not user replaceable as far as I know. Symprtms of failure would be losing time and custom settings. I think the camera would still work, though. When mine quits, I'll let you know. The battery is likely to be a lithium cell, probably soldered to the PC board.

If you are experiencing other problems with the camera, such as banding, washed out looking photos, or just plain blank pics, the problem may be due to a faulty CCD. Sony will repair it for free, if this is the case.
