Default Minolta DiMAGE A2 and Z2 confirmed...

I cannot take credit for this find, as I found the information about it on another digital photography forum.

However, Minolta made a mistake (letting the "cat out of the bag") when they posted the cameras supported by the latest DiMAGE Viewer Software Update.

The Software update (dated January 30) shows that the models supported include the DiMAGE A2, and the DiMAGE Z2.

Go to the Minolta site:

http://www.minoltausa.com/eprise/mai...PG/CPGProducts

Then, click on a camera model (like the DiMAGE A1). Then click on "Software", and you'll see the "DiMAGE Viewer Update Ver 2.2.2 - 01-30 2004 "

Click on it and a window opens with models supported (including the A2 and Z2).

Edit/Update:

To skip the above steps, just go to this link, and you'll see the models supported:

Since they both take 2/3 sensors it might be an upgrade to the 8Mp sensor in the Sony 828. It could also be the long stabilized lens from a major manufacturer that Steve says is to be announced soon.

It appears to be real at least someone thinks they have the word: http://www.fotovideoplus.ch/MINOLTA/DimageA2.html
