Default D7i - Bracketing & self-timer

Can they co-exist? Tried on vacation and it wouldn't work as I expected. Also, on bracketing, I thought camera does three frames automatically. Seems like it wanted me to press shutter release multiple times. This is inconvenient, especially when asking a stranger to take your picture. Was not using max size or quality. Please advise.

The answer is yes to both!

On the 2nd one, you have to hold the shutter down until all the bracketing series (all 3 shots) finishes otherwise it'll terminate early! The only exception is in raw where you actually have to take 3 separate shots...

OK, tried again and I see that SR button must be held down for the bracket series. But I don't see how I can invoke BOTH bracket and self-timer since they are on the same mode dial.

I guess you're right on this one.
I was more thinking in term of the exposure compensation dial since I don't have the camera in front of me...

Default Self-Timer Conditions?

Just when I thought I got the self-timer figured out it doesn't work the way I expect.
What are the conditions for the self-timer to fire? It can be frustrating when there's no time to fiddle.
