Default DiMAGE 7 Firmware Update review by NHL

NHL,
Congratulations for your detailed and excellent DiMAGE 7 Firmware Update review !

I discovered something I didn't notice on the D7i about the shutter !
... and hope that Minolta hear you and offer the choice on the focus algorithm ( v 2.1 ??) . On the D7i, sometimes I wish having the focus in the old way too.

Thanks for contributing and sharing

Apparently we're not alone...

I loaded 121u few hours before a jump. Worked great. I made the best photo of the
day in the first jump. The formation was kept for 0.6 second and with firmware 2.00 I wouldn't make it.

You got to thank Steve - It was his idea!

BTW did you see the new black D7Hi?

... Remember the money we saved last year by not getting the D1 at the time? May be it's time to pull the trigger... now that it comes in 'professional' black... BTW we still have enough money left over from the D1 decision to invest in next year acquisition as well!!! (Not that the D7 is still not plenty useful... and still cost about the same as what we paid for, what an investment!!!)

I'm grateful I did not get the Nikon! However, the D7 with upgrade works too well for me to consider tossing it at the moment-it's doing what I want.

In a couple of years that may change, but....I'm happy. Considering that I normally moan and groan about everything, it's an achievement.
