Default What do you think of your Z2.

I was wondering what any Z2 owners think of the new camera. I've read the review and it looks like a camera i might like to own. I read that the Z1 lens used to rattle, has this been fixed in the Z2? Thanks for all replies.

I have been using Z2 for about month.

Lenses are alright, just the entire system (the one which shifts when you turn your camera on) moves a little (It is ok, doesn't influence the quality of the pictures. It moves on the most of cameras).

Great movies quality.

Don't like that external flashes are so expensive.

I can tell you that it is a good camera for it's price.

I'm looking at something like the Z2 sometime soon. 4mp + decent zoom etc.

Looking at 3 example pics on this thread :

http://www.stevesforums.com/phpBB2/v...ic.php?t=24707

Shows the Z2 to be a poor 3rd, the image is quite poor in comparison, some images heree arnt nearly as bad, can it take a decent picture as some of its competition can?

Default I generally like it

Here are some pros for the DiMage Z2:
  • * I've had good luck with image quality. That tree shot in the other forum looks very odd to me, not at all like what I get with my camera.
    * Awesome battery life.
    * Fast autofocus
    * Excellent results for bright outdoor shots, even at 10x zoom.
    * I love the design. Looks cool and seems quite ergonomic.
    * Good movie quality (but see con below)

The Cons:
  • * Videos cannot be edited in any video editing software I own (including the bundled software) without losing sound.
    * Shape makes it difficult to pack.
    * Has some trouble focusing in low light.
    * Does not feel as rugged as nome other cameras (like Fujis), though I have had nothing break.

If Konica-Minolta would either fix the audio import problem or supply software that can sucessfully edit the video produced by this camera, I would recommend it without hesitation. But, to me, the stated video capabilities of this camera are big on the feature list and should be 100% functional.

This camera is easily the cheapest 10x zoom that i know of. It is around 260 on Amazon where the Canon S1 IS is around 380. They seem very similar cameras to me, so the Z2 looks a good deal.
