I have a Minolta 7hi that is appearing to lock up when it is writing to the card with the VF going dark and a message on the LCD display: 'err'. I can turn the camera off, then back on and all is fine untill the next time.
Is this a memory card issue? I tried another CF card (a 256MB Lexar) once with no problem, BUT this is a very occasional problem, maybe once in every 20 or 30 shots. No pattern to it.

It tried a 'workout' session by just firing off multiple pics one after the other for 15 to 30 minutes just to see if I could get it to fail with ythe 256 card. It didn't. I then tried the 512 card and it did once in about 150 plus shots.

Any way I can test the card? I have a 8 in one reader in the computer where I xfer the photos with. I only do a COPY and paste, being careful NOT to write to the card because of past problems.

Hi videobruce,

Here is something to consider:

Remove media and batteries overnight so camera will reset to defaults.

Then try the media again.

If still no go, then check guarantee on the Lexar media. I believe it is a lifetime warranty. Perhaps, you could send them in for an exchange.

Good luck!
