How does the tube adapter attach to the camera? The only way I can see, judging by the pics, is that it snaps onto the inside of the outer barrel. If so, how sturdy a connection is this? I want to get one with a UV filter (for protection) and a lens hood ('cause it looks cool. :roll

The inside of the outer barrel is threaded. The adapter screws in and is very sturdy.

Really? It's threaded? Man, I looked, and I didn't see any. Guess it's 'cause it's black in there. Good to hear that it's sturdy though. I mean, what if I wanted to use one of these?

It might be sturdy but if I used one of those things I think I'd support it with my hand under the add on lens too!

See the end of the MESH OVER LENS thread, which has beeen digressing for days now ................. there I answered your original questions regarding how to get the adapter. Now someone has answered that Jessops in the UK do them. Very strange, because I bought my Z2 camera from Jessops 3 weeks ago and they phoned head office who said that the adapters were not available in the UK. So have a look at that thread.

So try them first.
