Having just bought my brand new Minolta Z1, less than 4 days after having it my sister dropped the thing.

Now I can live with the minor paint scratches- mostly on the flash casing as thisbit sticks out the most. But what I would like sorted are the little bits of what looks like dirt and dust that are now on the LCD under the plastic cover on the back of the Z1. They don't look like dead pixels because they stand out a bit from the actual LCD when I look at it from the side, and they still show up white when it's turned off.

SO...Anyone think of anyway of fixing this, or getting the cover off (without causing anymore damage) so that I can get the dirt/dust off it???

Any help greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

I would send it into an authorizedrepair center myself. Do you really want to try a home-remedy to fix this?

I tried. They said that since it wasn't affecting the operation of the camera, and was only cosmetic it is not covered by warranty, and therefore they couldn't do anything about it. I also asked for a quote to fix it from a independent company who told me £140. Since I only paid £180 for it in the first place, I can live with the minor damage if avoiding paying an extra £140!!

I was just wondering if there was anything else I could do myself to fix it???
