Some idiot made people think the release date was late July, early August.

Going on 2 big trips by the time it is released--doesn't help me now. Thanks for the info.

I asked a large retailer here. They said they will have it in stock in two weeks.

In Canada the Z3 is listed for $658 CDNon the www.cameracanada.com web site. Not a bad price considering that the Canon S1 is listed for $669 CDN. There is no availablity date however for the Z3.

Well hopefully you can help with some translations of some early reports for us.

For the US this thing will probably be at Walmart and other large stores so they will need to produce (literally) boatloads of the things before they can roll them out. That is one problem with a mass market camera like this.

Hopefully, there're no QC problems as with the Z1 during its launch. And firmware should be ok, too, or else ...

That's mass production dilemma, too.

I advise you to wait 3 to 6 months. Then the price could have been dropped by 30 %.

I ordered a Z3 from A.P.S. (advancedphoto) in NY on thurs 080604. it is being shipped via fedex. The price was $449 plus $20.00 shipping. It is not a grey market camera and the merchant had a good rating with yahoo. I should get it by monday or tuesday of next week.
