Neat name 'deepboys' ...no idea what it means, but it sounds

Other reviews on the K-M DiImage A200 that are now posted :
http://www.steves-digicams.com/2004_reviews/a200.html
http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/KMA200/A2A.HTM

Also,DCResource is due to do a full review sometime in Jan. `05 :
http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/ca...il.php?cam=639

And forother folks, check out this thread that 'deepboys' startedon Steve's Forums recently about the A200 :
http://www.stevesforums.com/forums/v...mp;forum_id=20

The K-M A200 looks like a great camera (I'm considering it myself), but as with ALL cameras, it's not perfect. In the Steve's Forums thread mentioned above, there 'may' be someconcerns with this camera re noise, etc., but with all it'sgood features and relative speed of operation, it's still at or near the top of my list.

Other cameras toconsider in this class: Nikon8800, Canon G6,Panasonic FZ20 (5Mp camera),Canon Pro 1, etc., . . .

Given the concerns mentioned inreviews, and also in debates/comments going on in variouscamera forums :P, about the Canon Pro 1, I have pretty much decided todelete that camerafrom my short list. There seems to be too many problems and shortcomings with the Pro 1.

Ihope more will join in on the chat about this new camera (K-M DiImage A200), so we can getmore opinions/info, and hopefully alsofeed-back from some of the new A200 owners that are out there.

Dear Kalypso,

I am new to the 'camera forums' scene. Please accept my apology if I have done something wrong. I am not a SPAMER, and have no financial interest in this site. I am merely trying to learn as I go, and share what little I have learned to date.

In this thread that 'deepboys' started, a simple, straightforward, legitimate question was asked. All I did was to try to share what I have found out to date, by posting links to the A200 reviews that I have read so far (one of which is on this site).

It was me (Dean) that posted those links ... not the 'Steve' person that you refer to. Am I being accused of posting things for someone else, or am I being mistaken for'Steve'? I really don't understand?!?!

I see that you are listed as thisforum's Moderator, so out of respect,I am taking thismatter seriously. Please clarify your accusations, so I don't make the same mistake(s) again (whatever they were?). All I want to do is participate, shareand learn.

Again, please accept my apology. I will wait to hear back.

Dean

P.S. Would it also be possible for the owners of this site & forum to provide some input andguidance here? Thx, Dean

Thanks Dean!
I apologize as I was to curt in my post & it came across as being much harsher than intended.

Steve is the owner of this forum & site I was referring to. This site does accept advertising (more info here:
http://www.steves-digicams.com/advertising.html )
and therefore depends on participants to come here and stay here. While supporting other sites is something that isn't discouraged...it is nice to try to keep folks here if we are providing a similar service.

As long as I have my foot in my mouth...I have a probably have a post with more links to other sites than anybody else:
http://www.stevesforums.com/forums/v...99&forum_id=54
My only excuse is the links cover a lot of information that we don't have on this site.

Please stick around...this is a fun place!
Kalypso

Thanks for the 'come-back' Kalypso!

No apology necessary. Your original remarks, did seem a bitharsh/curt and out of left field, but I've since had time to count to 10 ... I guess I just need some guidance as to what is, and is not encouraged in these forums. It appears it maybe a little different environment than what I am used to.

I am a forums Moderator myself on an unrelated site (sports/bicycle racing). I think my job there is much easier than yours. All I have to do is policeminor profanity & misinformation issues and the very rare personal attack, andalsoencourage the free flow ofinformation (regardless of it's source). From reading some of your posts as Moderator on other threads, you appear to have a much broader mandate, and are required to use a muchheavier hand than I am. I guess each website has it's own way of running things ... nuff said, eh!:-)

Thanks for the invitation to "stick around" ... I'll take youup on it, anddo just that! This is a greatwebsite, and an EXCELLENT source of digicam information! Steve's reviews and other information are PRICELESS, and the forums sectionhas has some very good people involved. Actually, from what I have seen so far, this could very well be the BEST digicam website going!

However,I think it's best that for the time being, Ilimit my participation in the forums section tothat of mostly just a 'reader', and will try tokeep my comments/views to a minimum until I get a better handle on the environment here. I see myself being involvedfor quitesome time, so I want to start off on 'the right foot'.:-)

Thanks again,

Dean

A THOUSAND apologies to Deepboys, et al. After only two posts, this thread took a 'hard left' and went way off subject! Sorry about that.

In addition to the A200 reviews mentioned above, the otherthread started by 'Deepboys' (mentioned twice in posts above), is well worth checking out. It's one of the best threads going right now on this Konica-Minolta forums page.

Also of note; 'Catbells' recently started another goodthread on the A200, titled "A200 Images". Check it out too ...:arrow:http://www.stevesforums.com/forums/v...mp;forum_id=20

As for myself, the K-M A200 is still on my 'top three' list. It has a lot ofneat features (manual zoom, etc.), and it's one of the faster operating cameras in it's class (a concern if you'reintoaction/sports photography as well).

Yes ... I'm also watching the other two threads mentioned above with great interest, as I too aminterested in the 'image quality'of this new camera. Hopefully some new ownerswillshare their findings with us.
