Default Crystal Optics Filter for D7i

i ordered my D7i and i got a kit with: Targus bag extra batteries and charger and 3 filters and lense cleaning kit. the Filter are Crystal Optics brand. Are these good to use with th e D7i? thanx for your input.

Well, other than probably paying too much for the kit, I am sure the filters are okay. As long as they are glass you should have no problem.

I have heard of the brand, but other than that, I know nothing about them.

Examine them visually. As long as you see no flaws or distortions, go ahead and use them.

You could also try test shots with and without the filters. Then examine the photos for any signs of problems.

I use a $9 UV and a $19 polarizer I got at Ritz camera.

$19 polarizer ? :shock:
Do they have Ritz in California ? gosh, just returm from there 2 weeks ago :roll:
Are they good and how it compare to BW or Minolta polarizer ?

California?

I don't use the polarizer all the time so I didn't want to spend big bucks on a BW filter, and no it is not a thin style. Actually it's 52 mm with a step down ring. Does not vignette, at least not that I notice. And yes it works just fine.

For the most part I am out and about in the kingdom and I am taking scenics or local color. Not real critical work, so the filter does what it was designed to do. Saturate the colors, and give me some nice blue in the sky. No complaints.
