Does anyone know if the FS-1100 works with the Z-series? I don't really need the power or features of the Maxxum flashes (especially since the AF-assist doesn't work with Z-series). I just want an external flash to eliminate red-eye (hopefully). I'm guessing that KM will say it's not compatible, but I'm wondering if it actually works.

Thanks.

Connect an analog ohm-meter to pin 1 and 4 of the hotshoe. If you see a brief contact , then the adapter will fire a standard generic flash. Be sure that the flash has acceptable trigger voltage. The reason of using an analog meter is that it's easier to see the brief contact. A better way is to use a small simple circuit with a battery, a resistor and a led, if you are comfortable with electronics, you should see the led briefly light up.

Are you saying no, you don't know, or no, it's not compatible? How do you know?
