Can anyone help me with choosing which camera to buy. My priority is speed of response. I have read that the G400 can capture an autofocused picture from start-up in 1.5 seconds. Is this the fastest picture-taker in the G-series?

Incidentally, if anyone knows of any other compact that can capture decentpictures very quickly from start up, I'd like to know.

Yes, the G400 is able to capture 3 pics in max resolution, while you're only reading half of this phrase, and wait, it took another 3 just before the end.

Seriously, it's stupid fast. I don't know how the G530 will perform, but from the G400, 500, 600, the little one is the fastest.

I don't know other cameres as fast as this one. Compare it to the G530 and get either one, you'll be very satisfied.

Thanks ttretas. Looks like the G400 is the one to buy then.
