I am looking at buying either the A2 or A200 for my uses to replace my film Canon A1. My wife is going to want to use it as a point and shoot, also. After reading some post below, I get the impression that merely setting it to auto is not good enough for P&S. Am I wrong for thinking that I can use these cameras as an easy P&S?

I have found that Program mode is better than Auto mode. But mine works just fine as a P&S.
Hope that helps,
Max
