Here's the Pro:
Pro 5700
- 35-280mm zoom (tele+)
- Stepless digital zoom
- Articulated LCD
- Best Shot Selector
- Black color
Pro D7i
- 28-200mm zoom (wide+)
- 49mm filter thread
- Ultra High Speed 1280x960 @ 7fps
- Manual focus fine-tuning override
- Flex AF focus point anywhere in the viewfinder
- wireless TTL flashes
- Real-time histogram
- Digital Filter Effects
- 'El Cheapo' 1800mAh rechargeable NIMh (microdrive friendly)
- Silver Color

Here's the Con:
Con 5700
- Optional barrel for filters
- Expensive 650mAh EN-EL1 (will need battery/handgrip for microdrive)
Con D7i
- Some pictures might need DIVU step

No pricing available yet on the Nikon, but figure-in the optional barrel for UV protector(or polarizer) and the extra EN-EL1 battery (or the battery/handgrip if a microdrive is planned) which is already figured in on the Minolta.

Two more features that I really like about the D7(i) is the EVF turning to B/W mode in total darkness and the night movie mode. I've used my D7 in moonless night and found out after the fact that I've captured something my bare eyes couldn't even see!

But the biggest operational difference is the manual zoom, and the manual focus on the D7i vs the electrical zoom and electrical focus (ie .pushbuttons, buzz, buzz) on the 5700... Whatever one's fancies...
