Yet another A200 gallery maybe? But this time, for those (like me) on a pre-historic dial-up service it might be an idea to try to keep file size of shots under 60-70kbytes or thereabouts? Faster loading though maybe quality not so good?

I've put this one on Catbells hi-res thread but here's my friend's pup'Muffin' at <60k.

Any others from anyone?

OK, maybe I'm the only one with dial-up!

Finalshot and I'll go back to big files.

Van Gogh could maybehave used Photoshop and a KM A200 - he should have waited around a while.

Bye

Just a couple more................

This one is straight off the camera with no post-processing at all. Small section of photo, just above the top edge of the vase.

.........and this one is the same as above but with Unsharp Mask (Amount 96%, Radius 1px, Thresh 0). Still at around file size 60kbytes, so low resolution.

I don't claim that these photos are definitive, I just goof around, I'm sure a pro would do better. It would be interesting to see others...... ..... anyone?

I find myself Liking this camera for it's natural almost film like properties. Sure you can sharpen it up and bump up the saturation and contrast and make it look like the results from some of the other makes - but I actually quite like the natural results.

Thanks to all who have posted so far - maybe if I get one....

Hello Geoff,

Thanks for your thoughts. Well, I checked things out in January and concluded that whatever the A200 doesn't do the list of stuff that itDOES do is pretty impressive, especially for the price. It's possibly true that it will cough and splutter a little sometimes when it is trying to focus up on a difficult scene, but if a user gets to know the camera really well it should be possible to produce some exceptionally good results from this exceptionally good camera.

The arguments have raged to and fro so I won't repeat them here. Suffice it to say that I am well satisfied.

Let's hope you chose the camera that suits you best, whichever this is. Let me know!

Regards,

Phranque.

Nannerch, North Wales (118kbytes). Infra-red 'conversion' in Photoshop, from colour original.

Pity about the 'phone wire! It's a bit messy at the bottom, this was just an experiment.
