If I may suggest these settings, taken from another thread I participated in some time ago, put forward by CastleDude. Settings for an A2, so amend accordingly for other cameras.

Maximum resolution 3264x2448, RAW
High Speed Continuous Advance (three boxes with an H)
Manual Shutter speed of 1/2000
Manual Focus, lens cap on
Inst Playbackoff, Antishake off"

You get a fair average reading, of course you could specify jpeg or any combination, but the target would be the same, the lens cap.

A near depleted battery could return slower results.

Quick test : A2, Single frame, Manual focus, Shutter speed @ 1/2000, playback and antishake off.

Lexar 40 x 512mb XFine jpeg. From light on to light off, 5 seconds.

............................ Raw............................................... ..., 16 seconds.

Lexar 80x 1Gb XFine jpeg. From light on to light off, 4 seconds.

.............................. Raw............................................... ..., 15 seconds.

Using the settings suggested above (except [email protected]/1600) and continuous H is 5 files on the A200, I got light on to light off times of (average of two):

2 G Hitichi Microdrive: XFine 6, Raw 26.5

2G Kingston Elite Pro: XFine 5, Raw 24/

Best, Cliff
