Rumors say that new 8Megapixel A220 is on its way...

It is clearly based on A200 but has quite a lot of improvements:

Body is more symmetrical - SRL like and metal.
Hand grip has new more ergonomical shape and
IR sensor has new more logical placement - on the top of the grip
New generation 7x zoom GT lens (whatever that means), 55 mm thread, 2.8-3.5
with supposedly much smoother zoom operation than A200.
New 2.2 inch LCD and yes! superb A2's EVF with much bigger rubber hood.
Slightly bigger and more powerful flash (5.8m).
Max ISO only 400

A 220 uses the same battery as A200 but can take only 230 pictures per charge.

All other characteristics are much the same as for A200.

Not bad! What do you think?

The only trouble is A 220 exists only in my dreams (and Photoshop)

Thanks, Maros. Since the biggest problem with the A200 was it's lens (soft focused images) Is this addressed and cured by the A220?

The biggest drawback with the A200, for me, is the lack of connectivity with standard flash units. The PCT-100 is very costly and hard to justify. Dedicated flash units, even the Sigma options, are expensive. Will the A220 have the A2 flash connection socket?

Stevekin, no mobile phone built in... sorry, but the touch screen keypad is not a bad idea (quite useful for a keen photographer attending all his/her sessions, weddings, ...)

Yes guys A220 is just a joke. But I wish KM would take the things, we users say seriously... and address all those issues :blah:
