Ebay sells them for about $7 plus $5-6 shipping. The A200 battery is the same as the Nikon En-El1 battery. Search for that battery and you would find a number of offers for 1000mAh batteries as opposed to the standard ones from Minolta. I haven't yet tried them thought.

You might find that the purchase of two inexpensive standard rating EN-EL1 batteries is more efficient. These battery clones can be found at very good prices and are likely to provide a better aggregate power supply than one expensive high-rated battery.

I chose this strategy and it seems to work well.

I have two of these and they work fine.

They rate them 1,100 mAh, and I never attempted to verify that.

monday I shall have my first camera (KM A200) and I already talked with an expert from GP batteries and they will supply a 2500mAH NiMH powerpack (complete with charger) for less than $50

I have checked out GP's website and did not notice any 2500 mAh ones. See http://www.gpbatteries.com.hk/html/t...igital_cam.asp

Can you please post the model number that you are referring to? It would be great if there really were such a battery.

Thanks - sae

STEFAN2DOOR did use the word powerpack - perhaps this is an external pack in addition to the usual N800 internal battery.

I use external sealed lead-acid 6v batteries for this purpose. They are a bit heavier but you can put them onto a belt and not notice. I use 4.5AHr batteries - weigh less than 6 N800's - which is equiv power (approx).
