Had my A1 stolen and recently replaced... now I need to also replace the memory card. In the camera that was stolen I used a Lexar 40x 512MB CF card and it was great... quick write times and nearly instantaneous in moving from one pic to the next in playback mode. But was this good performance due to the camera itself or in part also due to the high speed card?

Now that I'm shopping for cards again, I'm researching it a little deeper and I'm reading that not all cameras can take advantage of the technology on the high speed cards. No sense throwing money away on speed the camera cannot use, so my question ina nutshell is what is the fastest CF card I can buy that doesn't require features/capabilities the A1 does not have?

I use in my A200 a PNY Optima 80X 512 mb card from www.newegg.com for $35. I dare you to beat that price.
