Default EXTERNAL FLASH

I have a Minolta Maxxum 3299i flash unit which I would like to try on my Dimage 7i. Does anyone know if the voltage is low enough to use on the 7i safely? Also, what functions wil/will not work with this combination?

Thanks for the assistance.

Correction- the flash is a 3200i; not 3299i

Any Minolta dedicated flash beside the (D) series will only work in manual. ie no ADI or TTL:

Thanks for the feedback NHL. I haven't tried the unit for fear that the voltage may be too high.

FYI I have tested my D7 with older 5400 and 3500 and they work in manual just fine... If the flash uses AA(4 or less) then it'll be OK. Theses are low power unit designed to triggered off the hot shoes, and the high voltage is only limited to its internal flash bulb circuitries.

Only some AC powered studio flashes have higher voltages in their sync line to overcome extremely long sync cords.
