Bad news for KM purchasers.

Won't be any upgrade path if you own KM lenses.

As the complete announcement says - Sony will build DSLR cameras using minolta mounts, so lens investments should be safe. Sony is also taking over service for K-M cameras. Those with existing equipment shouldn't have to worry.

There may be, but it will say 'SONY" on it. With SONY getting the ant-shake and the Minolta lens mount (and possibly Minolta lens manufacturing), we may actually end up seeing the camera of my dreams - a large sensor, live EVF camera with interchangeable lenses, and a sealed body.

You'll see some stories about it on our Breaking News Page

Scroll down to near the bottom for the initial story.

KM will continue to design and manufacturer DSLR models for Sony. But, you'll see no more Konica Miniolta branded cameras being produced after March 31 (and for all practical purposes, production has already ceased for existing models).
