I was able to download the dimage 7firmware ver 1.23 at http://ca.konicaminolta.com/... .../software_drivers/firmware/ver123_win.html
It unzips to 2 files: dsc.app and ram.bin. There is no readme file. Can someone please paste the readme here or give instructions on how to perform the upgrade? Thxs.

Thanks, Steve. That did the trick and the ver1.23 installation went without a hitch. That's the good news. The bad news is I still can't retainthecustom wb setting on restarting. I was also hoping the firmware upgrade would remap the ccd to remove hot pixels. I understand some version of the dimage 7 will do that periodically - like monthly. Would that be a feature of firmware version 2.0? Also, the infrared hot spot is quite annoying. Does ver2.0 affect that? Any idea where I can get ver2.0?

Sorry but Konica Minolta is now out of the camera business and the Dimage 7 is rather old - no future firmware will be released for it.

Other can confirm, but I don't remember any mention about this.

The D7 is not suppose to have a "spot" or "halo" in infrared shots; only D7i and later have this problem.

Apparently the 7hi exhibits a very big and dibilitating hot spot. The dimage 7 isn'tas bad but it's still there and must be dealt with. Here are a couple of recent shots. In the first the leaves should be all the same brightness. The hot spot can be seen as the bright spot in the middle. You can work with it byframing something in the shadows in that middle portion as in the second shot. But that isn't always an option.
