If you could find another one at a dealers to compare yours to .... that'll do the trick.

mr_vandepotgerukt, I have the same problem. The sound from the camera when zooming in and out is quite odd. Did you find out if it is supposed to be like that? Did you perhaps send it in for repairs?

I checked out my m410r after reading about yourquiery Mr_Vandepotgerukt. I f you are holding the cam very close e.g. while using the the evf the zoom is quite audible and not what you would describe as smooth, as you said like squeeking, but if youoperate the zoom with the camera held at arms length it is barely audible, and if thier is the slightest of background noise e.g. a computer running you really must be concentrating to notice it.

If yours is similar to what I have describedI think you shouldnt worry so much.Mine has been like this since new and I have taken over 6000 shots with it and you can imagine how many times the zoom has been operated already, if it was abnormal it would have broken down by now.

bye
