Have just been looking around and found this:-


Scroll down these posts until you see the photo of the Panasonic FZ3

Thank you SLIPE what a cracking idea to use a little LED torch! for the AF assist lamp.

Now on the Canon powershot A70 the Focus assist lamp is orange, so can we use the bright white LED and/or the red led's that you can now get?

Which one would be better?

Maybe the orange isn't so irritating to folk's eyes etc. The red ones are supposed to be partly in the infrared region so that it's not annoying. The bright white stuff is kind of annoying...but that's what's on a lot of canon cameras.

I'd just use one of these and blind the heck out of the subject hehehe
