I'm not sure

Have read that they take the purchase price and the postage add it together, then sting you for import duty, then to round it off slap 17.5% VAT on the whole lot!!!

Just had a reply though from someone on DCmag forum, he says there will be no import duty as cameras are duty free, but they do put VAT on at 17.5%(thats on the shipping cost as well as purchase price)

He also said try not to use UPS as if the vat is too high royal mail get involved and won't deliver it.

Why can't things be simple?

Is it 2005 or 1805? I seem to forget.

Will she carry that camera in her handbag all the time or is it an occasional use thingy?

Looking at the size I think she will be able to keep it with her all the time.

She only needs it for snap shots and the like so it's perfect.

With using the LCD to compose shots no more head loss!

Got my e-mail it's on itsway yipee play time!!!:|

Hi all,

Tony, I gave up smoking beginning of last year, which paid for my HI-TI 730ps dye-sub printer and the M410r...with a little help from my savings:-)

The Contax has arrived...wow it's stunning, I'd buy it just to have it sat on the mantle piece as art!!!!

Played with it for about 10mins, it's now gone into the depths of the wife's bag:sad:

She's been at home all day and charged the battery and been playing so she knows how to work it all.

KK I ordered an extra compatible battery from EBAY it was only £5.60 + £4P+P thats here too. I was going to order a stand alone charger for the battery have you

used/recommend one?

I know one thing it's very fast!! point half-press shutter and it's already focused you could just about compose the shot and press shutter all the way.

Really nice bit of kit, will post some pics when I do a midnight raid of her bag
