Hi KK,

Sourced the 52-55 step up ring from the USA via a' Buy It Now Add' on E Bay,cost $5-95 plus $1-95 for postage to UK.(i.e £4.28 total cost) Took 6 days to come.Ring is made from a soft type of Aluminium manufactured in India!

Hope this is of interest, Cheers Ian

Thanks Ian ...... that is useful information ...... I got my step-ring and 55/55 lens coupling rings via USA .....at about one fifth of the UK price. I'm afraid my wallet won the battle with my heart!

Cheers, KK.

Hi KK

1. I have the lenses. The set is brand new (at least looks brand new) and comprises of the following

  • 1.5x Telephoto Lens. (with front and rear covers) [/*]
  • 0.5x wide angle lens (with front and rear covers) [/*]
  • Diameter of rear mount threads is 46mm [/*]
  • The set includes adapter rings for 49mm and 52mm cameras. [/*]
  • The set is packed in a leather bag. [/*]
  • The set is of CAMQuip, Japan. (this written on the lenses).
[/*]
2. I have done some experiments with the wide angle lens. It enhances the field of view of the camera but the barrel of the lens also comes in the picture. Here is the example. (I have reduced the size of the pictures).

Original (without wide-angle lens)

3. When I zoom-in to eliminate the interference of the barrel, the effect of eide angle lens in practically nullified. Here is the example.

4. Inside the room, the picture gets dark even if the flash is ON. I then used an additional external flash (with the help of sync. sensor). Here is the example.
