I've been trying for over a month to reach someone at Kyocera parts dept so I can order the 28mm filter adapter for my SL400R. I've tried the email address and the phone number mentioned on the Kyocera North America site, but no responses.

Does anyone know the proper way to order this item?

Thanks, Mark.

Is it the USA Service Centre you have been calling?

if so, you must have missed it. Kyocera/Contax USA IS gone. Distribution of
remaining stock has been transferred to Tocad America.Repair issues should be referred tothem.

Sorry don't have the address yet ....but you should be able to follow up from there. Lemme know if I can help further!

Cheers, KK

Thanks for the information about ToCAD...I sent an email to their generic infomation email address. I'll post if they reply with any useful information.

I've been looking forward to connecting the SL400R to my telescope to try to get into basic astrophotography...hopefully I'll be able to get the adapter!

I got a reply from ToCAD...
Quote:
Dear Sir,

ToCAD is only handling the Contax Product Line. Kyocera Optics Inc. is still handling the Kyocera product line at this time. This being the case, you would need to contact Kyocera Optics Inc. at 800-526-0266, ext. 4374 for Kurt Jobson in parts.
Guess I'll give this number a try early next week.

Excellent Mark ...that's cleared it up for everyone! There are several references on WWW that mention ToCAD handling both ...... it appears we have been fed erroneous info ....... until now!

Let us know how you get on obtaining the adapter .... it's a common inquiry.

Cheers, KK

A bit of an update on this...

I've tried callingthe Kyocera Opticsnumber specified in the email from ToCAD, but no answer and no returned messages. So I email ToCAD again and asked for infomation about a lens adapter for a Contax SL300R T* and they sent this message:

Quote:
Dear Sir,
Yes, you may order them directly from us. They are $5.00 each and $4.00 for shipping and handling. Make a check or money order in US dollars to ToCad America Inc. And send it to 300 Webro Road, Parsippany, NJ07054 Attn.: Parts Department
...
We do not have an image of the adapter but there is only one and it is used for the SL300R T*, SL400R and U4R cameras.
I haven't ordered yet, but this looks like my best bet.

I got a surprise in the mail yesterday - it was my filter adapter!

It must have been sent out due to my original request on Jan 25, as that is the only time I gave them my address...I guess they must have been backlogged or something! The other neat thing is that it was sent no charge (unless they send an invoice later).

For anyone interested, the email I sent to is [email protected], which is the parts department address mentioned in the SL400R FAQ for adapter requests.
