My boys and I took a trip up to the Yuba river Sunday and were pleasantly surprised to see this icecircle floating in the river. It was gently spinning and moving back and forth. My guess is there is normally a vortex there and a chunk broke off the sheet and began to rotate in the vortex. As it bumped into the stationary sheet while rotating, it chipped off the rough edges until it became perfectly round. Incredible finding, don't you agree?

That's very cool. I wonder if you can bring out the colors/saturation by editing curves? Thx for sharing!

Phenomenal phenonenon. I love the one with the shadows falling across the circle of ice! I wonder if the movement of the water caused that ice to turn and turn and turn, causing it to kind of "grind" itself against the rocks as it turned to create the perfect circle?

That's amazing. I don't believe I've ever seen anything like it.

You should be very proud of these great shots.

This first picture is very surreal. It kind of freaked me out to see the size of the people.

Very interesting shots. Like most people here, I like the first one best for the reasons they have said.

Cheers, Ollie
