Think I had a little spark of inspiration tonite, yesterday was so cloudy / rainy that I was miserable not having anything to munch on with PS. This is a drug ! So I decided to give a try of before / middle / after sunset shots. Was also waiting for spring to finally show a glimpse of what it has to offer.
These shots were taken at local refuge here on the Ottawa river, so here goes with what I've worked so far : Before sunset (Sigma 50-500 @ 50mm) : ![]() Again before, through the clouds(Sigma EX 12-24 @ 17mm) : ![]() Nearer to sunset (Sigma EX 12-24 @ 22mm) : ![]() Then clouds as you can see masked the sunset, decided to turn the camera the other way and wait for the twilight moment in the sky (kit lens on this one @ 34mm) : ![]() EXIF and full size image here : http://www.bytephoto.com/photopost/s...mp;ppuser=1867 Critiques are welcomed, it's my 1st attempt at this. Cheers |

quite nice
![]() the second one is very nice......the only problem with this kind of photography....is a lot of it is based on clouds...or the color of the sunset.....if the clouds are placed just right it is unbelievable...you got some nice clouds in these ![]() |

Nice job! You did a better job than I did in regard to the horizon you can see in the foreground. I posted a sunset picture a couple days ago which I was really happy with except for the fact that the land in the foreground came out a good bit darker than it actually was. It's a little more tricky to capture than it would appear, I like your pictures a lot.

I can only see the last two (red x's on the first two), but they are both very nice. I like the colors in the first one but in the second you have also captured the moon, a nice touch.

WOW - Four great shots. I'd frame them all and hang them on the wall!
