My girlfriend and I went out west of the city last night to catch and photograph the eclipse that occured. We decided to head out to this little pond up highway 66 west of Calgary as its fairly open ground so we could easily see the whole event. Having arrived fairly early we decided to go for a little hike around the pond which was almost mirror flat at the time. Just when we got to the far side the moon decided to show itself....and I took a few shots like this one which I hope you like as much as we both do.

Great shot! Exposure, to me, looks very good! Maybe see what a crop looks like where the moon is off centered to the right more, showing a longer line of the trees.

Awesome shot, tmmckay!
It says so much... I love the tranquil, open water with snow on the ground...It hints that winter is "imminent" in the North Country. ![]() |
