....in the South Island, New Zealand, on the road from Christchurch to the west coast.

The picture was shot about 14 years ago on 35mm color negative film - I think it was either Kodacolor or Ektacolor. I still have the negatives, but when I make digital photographs of the negatives & then reverse the colors in my computer, the colors barely show up & nothing I do improves them much.
I suspect that either they've faded, or they can only be properly printed by conventional photography chemical process. I wonder which is the more likely?

This picture was made by photographing one of the 14-year-old, 3 1/2 x 5 prints.

Great picture, pity you can't get the negative correctly scanned, my guess is you would need to use a proper scanner with an option for handling negatives to get a decent result. I don't think negatives fade, at least I hope not, I've got a lot in storage myself that would benefit from digitising!
