Back in early November, the color was reaching it's peak here on Long Island. I took a walk along what is known as the "greenbelt" trail, in Bethpage. This trail runs in a narrow strip of land that extends north from Bethpage State Park. This land was bought by the state, originally to be an extention of the Bethpage parkway, but the state abandoned plans for that and instead turned it into this wonderful park.
