When I take pictures and use the zoom function staying in the optical zoom area I end up with blurred pictures. Find out the only way to avoid this is only use half of the available zoom...What a drag. Can't seem to find any info on this anywhere. Anyone out there have any helpful hints??? Thanks for the help in advance.

Are you using a tripod to steady the camera? Is your internal sharpness mode set to sharp, normal, or soft? Where is your photometry setting? Where is your AF(auto focus) mode set?

tripod is mentioned because when u have full zoom and shake is more noticable and the aperture is not as low resulting in slower speeds, it can be suprising how slow this time of year

you didn't specify what zoom settings, shutter speed, etc., you've been using that create this problem, but the S7000 doesn't have image stabilization, so you'll get blurry pictures at almost any zoom setting above about3x, unless your shutter speed is fairly high. for instance, if you're shooting at the upper end of the lens's reach (equivalent to a 210mm lens on a film SLR), you should probably keep your shutter speed at 1/250 or higher to avoid blur induced by camera shake. if you're shooting outdoors on an overcast day, even 1/200 can be hard to get, so you may have to resort to a tripod or monopod to steady the camera, which should help a lot...
