The sun was to my left and it was an hour or two before it started to set. What are things I can do to improve this? Its 50% of its original 1600x1200 size so that its faster to download.
I cropped it ever so slightly and so far that's about it. I took it with the "landscape" setting with the "daylight" white balance on my Canon a60. ![]() |

Why change it at all. I know it is a dark toward the bank but mirror effect of the lake is my primary focus point. That point is great for this pic.

Just wondering if there was anything I would need to change, or perhaps what would be better try when takeing landscape pictures
![]() I am thinking of adding a small website that deals with Vancouver Desktop pictures. I can never find any good quality/size pictures of the vancouver area. So with these pictures, I am learning the various camera functions and stuff. ![]() |

I also have some comments to your shot!
First of all: ITS AN EXCELLENT SHOT AS IT IS! You should be proud of it as it is. However I would clone away the treetops in the lower right corner and also the two black stribes in the lower middle. And the water seems somehow more pixelated than the rest of the pic - could be small waves, but I dont know! Put a thin black frame around it and then show it to people on a dark grey background...just thoughts...wish it was mine! Great shot - keep up the good work! |

Cool, thanx for the comments
![]() I'll play around a bit more and see what else I can try. The pixelation in the water, I think are ripples or the current of the river. Now I'm off to try and take pictures of the Vancouver skyline... hopefully. |
