Very good DOP in #4. I liked 1 and 3 also. Was 1 the moon rising or sun setting.

Thanks....Phil, #1 was the sun setting. What does "DOP" mean?

1 and 2 are lovely, the portrait is also very good. I find the blown highlights in 3 a tad distracting.
In general well done. |

I think the highlights add to that picture, Selvin. I like the way the sky appears graduated and the highlights only add to it (IMO). Normally, I would agree that blown highlights are distracting...in this case, I like the total effect. Oh well...this is just another example of how we all see things differently -- some find it pleasing, others don't care for it. (hence my signature

Nice shots. The first sunset, I liked the pink; The second sunset, I really was drawn by the cloud formations; The third one, I like the angle of the tall grass; and the fourth of the village man---his eyes. I really like those eyes. Thanks for sharing. Beep Beep, Darby |

All are really good, but I like the second shot best. I'm with "ohenry" on this one. Sometimes blown highlights are exactly what's needed. Here, they translate well into the experience of a hot sun.

I like them all
![]() Last one could of used a bit of a scrim to cut down the strong light on the top of his head. So you are a Minolta 7HI user? Camera seems to be working out very well for you ![]() |

It's always nice to get all of your opinions since it gives me a different perspective on things.
PeterP: Good point. I didn't realize that until you mentioned it. It was bright out...wish I could have avoided it. Maybe I can work it in Photoshop. And yeah, I'm a Dimage 7hi user....the only thing I wish I had was the ability to change lenses but I don't have that kind of money to spend on a Digital SLR. This camera is excellent apart from that. Everyone: Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts ![]() |
