Hi guys,

Well, I've been participating in this forum for awhile (off and on), but I've never posted any picutes ... so here goes my 1st picture post. Not one of my best pictures, but I sorta like it. This is from a local granite outcropping that is common to my area

Comments are welcome to help me improve my technique. I have PS Elements 2.0 and Thumbs Plus. Can someone give me some good resizing techniques as well. I don't typically resize my pictures and I'm having a hard time trying to make the picture small enough while preseving some quality.

Thanks

Michael

Hi Michael
Nice shot, I like the contrast of granite and vegetation, it looks like the vegetation in the center flowed down from the upper areas, it has sort of a fluid feel to it.

I'm fairly new here too, and I to, had resizing issues, but other members have been very helpful. The picture you posted is sized just right, I always keep a copy of the original,I keep a copy of the modified (cropped or whatever) picture and the resized one, It may be overkill but it works for me.

Hi Michael,

Congrats on your first photo post :)

Since you asked...this mountain of yours has wonderful granite slabs so I tried to bring them out a bit (below).

Also, I love to hike angled slabs like this...you "smear" your boot on the slab to climb them.

:)

Scottie and Digicamfam,

Thank you both for your kind comments. The area is called Arabia Mtn, but it's really more like a mole hill when you compare it to a Mtn. Pretty fun area though .... some steep angles, some flat spots with pools of water .... and plenty of granite as you can tell.

Digicamfam,

I like your edits. What did you do?
